Lisa Meier
Lisa Meier holds a professorship for film costume design at the Berlin University of the Arts. The department was newly established in 2011. She has been co-leading the BA and MA Costume Design Course with Prof. Florence von Gerkan.
In recent years Lisa Meier has taught amongst others at Dresden University of Fine Arts (DE), University of the Arts Bern(CH), The German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB) (DE), Met Film School–Berlin (DE), F+F School for Art and Media Design Zurich (CH), National Film and Television Institute (Nafti) (GH). Since 1991 she has been working internationally as a freelance costume designer, author and curatorin the fields of film, television and theatre.
Her work"BLANTYRE"was published by Hatje Cantzin 2010, the Edition Patrick Frey publishing house published her work "FUNERAL FASHION IN GHANA" in 2013. She curated exhibitions like"BILDER DENKEN - Das Film Kostüm Bild" at Zoofenster Berlin or the autumn exhibition "FILM KOSTÜM BILDER" of the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB). On the occasion of the "1st Symposium Gender Research Film”, 2018, at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf she curated together with students the exhibition " Clothes in the Moving Image"
